Erin Mendelsohn

Vice President

Erin Mendelsohn is a Vice President specializing in healthcare policy. She brings twenty years of experience to the Alpine Group, including a deep understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes from her time on Capitol Hill and at the FDA. She’s also navigated and shaped major policy changes from both the trade association and corporate perspective, all while bringing a pragmatic, bipartisan spirit to her work.

During her decade on Capitol Hill, Erin served as Legislative Director and special advisor to Congresswoman Anna G. Eshoo (D-CA). She was integral to shaping major pieces of healthcare legislation, including the Affordable Care Act, creation of a regulatory pathway for biosimilars, and reauthorizations of the FDA user fees and the Pandemic All Hazards Preparedness Act.

Erin joined the FDA in 2015, serving as the Congressional Liaison for the Center for Device and Radiological Health (CDRH). She helped facilitate bipartisan negotiations by bridging the goals of policymakers on Capitol Hill with those of the regulators who are tasked with ensuring the safety of our medical products.

In 2018 Erin began the first of several positions advocating on behalf of innovative biopharmaceutical innovation. In 2018 she joined the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), helping to protect America’s world-leading innovation ecosystem. While there, she helped build consensus amongst 35 of the largest biopharma companies and advocate for policies that would continue investment in and discovery of breakthrough therapies. She then spent time in-house at Takeda Pharmaceuticals and Vertex Pharmaceuticals, with a keen eye toward corporate culture and coalition building.

Erin graduated with her B.A. in Politics from U.C. Santa Cruz and lives in Washington, D.C. with her family.
